Coop to Help with Clines Corners Project

The Central New Mexico Electrical Cooperative (CNMEC) board of directors unanimously approved the participation of the Coop in the Clines Corners Wind Energy Demonstration Project. The board designated the Coop operations manager, Ronald "Tooter" Davis, as their point man to work with Vawtpower Management, Inc. at the May 26 Coop board meeting.

During the meeting, George Cook, lead partner of the Clines Corners Retail Center, described his plans to grow Clines Corners into a major crossroads village. The electrical needs of the development will expand from its present load of about 1000 MWh per year. Part of the increased load will be supplied by the VP100 now under construction. The retail center is already one of the largest loads on the CNMEC system.
